Decoding Uniden and Radio Shack Production Codes Radio Shack: The date code consists of a number (from 1 to 12), followed by the letter "A", followed by another number (from 0-9). The first number represents the month of manufacture, while the last number represents the year. (The "A" acts as a separator.)
Uniden Bearcat: The date code consists of a two digit code representing the month followed by another two digit code representing the year. 0EIC would decode to May 1993 0E = May (E=5, fifth month of year) IC = 93 (I=9, C=3) 0CI0 would decode to March 1990 0C = March (C=3, third month of year) I0 = 90 (I=9, 0=0)
